A collage inspired by Wolf 359. At the top of the image, a strip of paper reads: 'chapter one: is somebody out there?' Two other pieces of cut-out text further down read: 'But could life exist elsewhere? Human beings have always looked at the heavens and asked: Are we alone?' and 'If living beings exist elsewhere in the universe, perhaps some of them are intelligent. They might have language. They might have something to say.' Individual letters cut from newsprint read 'wolf 359' and 'am i alone now?' Images used in the collage include a diagram of radio waves sent from Earth to another planet, a scientist examining someone strapped to an examination chair, and the pictorial question 'work best solo? Or in a small group?' The focal point of the collage is an artist's depiction of a red dwarf star, with a single astronaut floating in front of it.
